Ice skating holds essential elements for boys and girls and adults alike to acquire: self-esteem, confidence, physical development, mental development, a sense of dedication and determination, and lasting friendships.
Cool Sports offers two options for skaters wanting instruction: group lessons or private lessons. Group lessons are available for beginner to advanced skaters in our Shooting Stars & Bridge program. Skaters in Basic 2 or above and Adult 2 or above can choose from Tuesday or Sunday Shooting Stars class times. Beginner / first time skaters ages 3-13 should register for Pre-Shooting Stars classes on Friday evenings only.
Cool Sports also offers group instruction for beginner hockey players in our Hockey 1 - 3 Shooting Stars ~ Hockey group classes on Friday evenings. This class is designed to help hockey hopefuls polish forward, backward and stopping maneuvers necessary for advance play. Sticks & pucks will not be used during these classes and hockey gear will not be required; but will be allowed.
The newest addition to the Cool Sports group class structure is the Bridge Program which takes place on Friday evenings. Skaters enrolling in the Bridge Program MUST have passed Basic 6 or higher. Skaters will dabble in ice dancing, synchronized skating, power skating, jumping & spinning and off-ice training.
If you feel that a group setting isn't for you, private lessons are also available. Cool Sports proudly boasts 12 professional skating instructors that can work with all levels of skaters. Those interested in private lessons should contact the instructor personally to set up lesson schedules or if you need assistance choosing the right coach for you, please contact our Director or Figure Skating, Nikki Copeland at (865) 218-4500 Ext 227 or email her at nikkic@coolsportstn.com.

BRIDGE PROGRAM
The U.S. Figure Skating Bridge Program was designed to keep skaters involved in group classes upon the completion of Basic Skills / Shooting Stars. Cool Sports believes that it is essential for skaters to realize the many different avenues of skating, such as synchronized skating, ice dancing, moves in the field, and so much more. Our version of the Bridge Program offers skaters the opportunity to gather a taste of multiple aspects of figure skating while still enjoying the group-class setting. Skaters must have successfully completed Basic 6 or higher in order to participate. For more information contact Nikki Copeland at nikkic@coolsportstn.com or (865) 218-4500 x 227.
